Epitaaf is a non-profit association which goal is “to study, to protect an to preserve the cultural heritage of churchyards, cemeteries and funeral monuments”. More in paricular: we manage a former workshop of a family of sculpors specialised in funeral monuments. This workshop, Atelier Salu, in which we keep an important collection of sculptors, plasters and tomb decorations, is being restaurated and transformed into a museum for funeral art. The Atelier Salu is closely linked to the cemetery of Laken, one of the most important in Brussels.
