Photo exhibition

In the frame of EUCEMET project, a photo Exhibition opening ceremony occured at Dobrava cemetery in Maribor on Thursday, 13th of September 2012.

It was opened by the ambassadors to Slovenia of the following countries: France, Spain and Cyprus.

The evening ceremony itself was an amazing experience and attracted lot of media atttention with coverage of national television station as well.

Visitors arrived to Dobrava cemetery in the evening at 19:30. Entry was lightened by little candles and torches. The music in the background played by the rythms of the animation projected to the back wall. After the ceremonial speeches, the tape was cut and photo exhibition opened to the public.

117 photos from 15 countries and 23 towns and cities were presented in many formats. In a photo book, as well as on the walls of the main object of the cemetey, visitors could have observed scenes from the 7 segments:
  • Welcome
  • Death and Darkness
  • Light
  • Heritage
  • Crosses
  • Mausoleum at Cape North Corsica
  • Life & Diversity

In the following months, exhibition will be opened to public in other partner towns of Aviles, Nebbiu and Niccosia and next year, several other ASCE members are planning to expose it at their cemeteries. All to get European citizens in touch with the European culture, resting in cemeteries.
