The AGM and Conference 2026 will be held from 18 to 20 June in Turin, Italy, at multiple locations, featuring captivating presentations, interactive workshops, cultural insights, and numerous networking opportunities.

Conference theme

This year’s Conference, themed "Life Lessons: Cemeteries as Educational Heritage", explores how cemeteries can serve as dynamic educational heritage sites, prompting reflection on how we preserve, interpret, and pass on knowledge across generations.

Note that some event activities have limited capacity, so we recommend registering for your preferred sessions as soon as possible. Once the spots are filled, additional registrations will no longer be possible.

AGM 2025: Sign up and Program

Registration is now open for the Annual General Meeting and Conference 2025. Check out the draft program!

Basic information

The AGM and Conference 2025 will be held from 4 to 6 September in Dresden, Germany, at multiple locations, with the main conference venue being the Kulturrathaus Dresden (Königstrasse 15, 01097 Dresden).

The gala dinner will be held at Eventlocation Kasematte by Convea Dresden (Hasenberg 1, 01067 Dresden), with the entrance to the vaulted casemates located at Am Hasenberg, opposite the New Synagogue.  

Participation in the cultural program on Thursday, 4 September, is optional and includes a boat trip departing from Sächsische Dampfschifffahrt (Terrassenufer 1, 01067 Dresden), as well as an excursion to the Heidefriedhof cemetery (Moritzburger Landstraße 299, 01127 Dresden), and dinner at Biergarten ElbeGarten (Friedrich-Wieck-Straße 18, 01326 Dresden).

Conference theme

This year’s ASCE Annual Conference, themed "Future through Remembrance", invites participants to explore innovative ways of communicating cemetery heritage, especially in the context of WWII remembrance. The program will focus on storytelling, digital tools, partnerships, and strategies to bring cemetery stories to life and ensure they reach and resonate with wider audiences.

Registration for the AGM and Conference 2025 is possible only by using the following sign up form. If you wish to register more than one person, the form must be completed for each person separately. In order to ensure the smooth running of the event, the number of participants is limited.

Details on fees and payment

To participate in the AGM and Conference, it is necessary to pay a registration fee. After completing the sign-up, each registered participant will receive a confirmation email and a separate email with payment instructions for the registration fee.

Estimated price list:

• Students - free (with a valid student ID card)
• ASCE members - 40€/person
• All others - 80€/person

The registration fee will be valid for the entire 2-day event program (Friday and Saturday), including the participation at the Conference, snacks and coffee breaks, gala dinner, and the excursion to the Cemetery Heidefriedhof.

The registration fee does not include the optional cultural program on Thursday (boat trip,  Künstlerfriedhof Loschwitz visit and dinner at  ElbeGarten beer garden).

AGM 2024: Sign up

It's time to sign up for the Annual General Meeting and Conference 2024, taking place from 19 to 21 September in Budapest, Hungary.

About the AGM and Conference 2024

The program will take place at multiple locations with the Conference venue being the Hungarian National Museum, one of the most prestigious locations in the country.

2 days of European significant cemetery life are about to be revealed along with discovering various monuments, stories and heritage sites of Budapest. Over 20 authors are expected to provide their insights on the challenges and solutions of "Cemeteries as Cultural Spaces of European Remembrance".

Applications for the AGM and Conference 2024 will be possible by using the following sign up form. Please read carefully the instructions below before applying.

If you wish to register more than one person, the form must be completed for each person separately.

After that, each registered person will receive the information for paying the registration fee to the entered email address (price list here). The payment can be made for several people at once. After the payment has been made, you will receive an invoice by regular mail, which is valid as a ticket to the event.

In order to ensure the smooth running of the event, the number of participants will be limited.

It's time to sign up for the Annual General Meeting and Conference 2023, taking place in Mantua, Italy, from 21 to 23 September.

About the AGM and Conference 2023

This year's AGM will take place on Thursday, 21 September 2023, in the TEA headquarters (Via Giuseppe Taliercio 3, 46100 Mantua, Italy) and it is intended for ASCE members only.

The Conference will take place on Friday, 22 September 2023, in the MaMu Mantova Multicentre (Largo di Porta Pradella 1b, 46100 Mantua, Italy) on the theme "Cemeteries of the future".

As you already know this year’s annual general meeting will be held in Budapest, Hungary (16-18 September 2021). Many of you have already registered for the program, but in case you haven’t done it yet, you still have a chance to apply until August 10th, 2021.

Here you can find a detailed PROGRAM with significant pieces of information. Please read it before you fill out the following questionnaire, which contains several questions the answers to which we need to know in order to plan every detail of the meeting.

Traveling

Costs of traveling to and from Budapest are paid by the members. Please come to the first program you decide to participate in on your own but after that National Heritage Institute will take care of the transfer with buses.

AGM 2017: Sign Up

Time to sign up for the most important event of the year.

Each year over 100 participants from all over Europe gather for our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Conference.

This time we will meet in the historical city centre of Athens. Our host Harokopio University is preparing a rich program of the Conference titled “Ancient Greek Art and European Funerary Art”.

AGM participation is subject to a special fee, 25€ per participant.
